Our principal, Mr. Mark Daly, was interviewed by TVB Pearl for its prime-time documentary, Pearl Magazine, in relation to the immense legal challenges faced by victims of human trafficking in Hong Kong.
Mr. Daly explained the concept of human trafficking as comprising of three essential elements pursuant to the Palermo Protocol: (1) the act of transferring or harbouring individuals; (2) the use of means such as violence, coercion, fraud, or deception; and (3) the purpose of trafficking, including forced labour, sexual exploitation, or practices akin to slavery. Mr. Daly also emphasised the duress experienced by trafficking victims, which may involve threats to their personal safety or that of their families.
